PBs and course records for Tipton athletes

Phil Nicholls showed he is still in good shape despite just coming back from his end of season break and currently only running steady miles.  He won the Lichfield 10k in a new course record 30:16 and rewarded £200 for his efforts.  Nicholls was on his own from the gun passing through halfway in 14.42 and even having being directed the wrong way by a marshall was able to recover and post a new course record. He finished 4 and a half mins clear of the second place runner.   Finishing 3rd was Malcolm Eustace in 35.06 and first vet.  Other performances in the race were Richard Hunter 9th in 36.47, Harvey Maguire 14th in 37.43.

Dean Hill ran another pb and seems to be getting better with age running the fastest half marathon by Tipton athletes this weekend, he finished 8th at the Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon in 1hr 15min 20sec, knocking over a minute off his previous best.  Stuart Male finished 43rd in 1hr 21min, Loz Heathcock 49th in 1hr 22min, Paul Southall 121st in 1hr 29min.

Henryk Piotrowski competed at the AAA's Half Marathon Champs at Bristol.  Henryk finished in 1hr 16 mins.  Henryk paid for a fast early pace having been on pace to run 73 mins for most of the race, but died a little on the final few miles.

Co Team Manager Matt Lockett represented the Midlands at the Cardiff 10k which incorporated an Inter Area Match.  Lockett ran a modest 33.45.  Lockett was later heard to curse the conditions "if only there had been mud and hills!"
