Clean Sweep at Staffs XC

The senior men gave an outstanding performance, winning the team event with six in the first twelve, Steve Marriott winning from fellow Tipton runner Mark Dalkins after a close competition between the two until the last lap when Steve opened a gap. John Millington had a fine run to gain third place with Dan Cotterill in seventh after a strong run, which also gave him third place in the Under 20 event. Pat Kavanagh 10th, and Simon Murcott 12th completed the scoring six. Other positions were, in 17th Malcolm Eustace - also a fine run to win the Vets. event,  22. Paul Rogers - third in Vets. event, 23.  Dean Hill, 26. Steve Brooks - a comeback performance!   32. Stuart Male - first outing on the country! 49. Laurence Heathcock  53. Ray Stanier 54. Alan Grice rounded off the Tipton senior mens team.

The under 20 Men's event was also a win for the Tipton team led in by a very good performance by Dan Cotterill, supported by Steve Abrahams  in sixth place and Chris Lynch in eighth position.

Jacob Tipper led the Tipton Under 17 Men's team into third place, Jacob finishing in seventh position, with the team completed by Mawzu-Lyn Cain and Zabie Hassan, both having one of their best runs on the country. Below form Billy Trueman finished 14th.

Under 13 Boys finished just outside the medals in fourth place. Tom Bains was a good 10th, George Duckworth 21st, Ryan Woollcott 22nd - in his first run for the club, with Luke Vine 27th.

Best performance from the women was in the Under 17 Katie Harper having an outstanding run to finish in the silver medal position to lead the team into second place, with Sophie Lynch showing better form in 5th place and Natalie Davies completing the team in 16th place. Had not Larna Partridge had to drop out the team would have won easily.

In the Senior Women's event there were good performances from Sally Anne Baines in 7th position, also giving her 3rd Vets and Lyn Cox followd in 8th place.

The Under 13 Girls finished  5th team, Hayleigh Wright leading them in a good 9th place, followed by Lauren Evans,12th, and Lauren Fairfax, 22nd.
