Senneleys Park Results

Stuart, Ray & Rich at SenneleysSaturday saw the real opening to the cross country season with the annual Senneleys Park meeting incorporating the first Birmingham Men's league and Midland Women's league.

The women were led home by Lyn Cox in 23rd followed by Cath Veysey in 34th. Next up were Sophie Lynch and Sophie Ward in their first Senior cross-country did extremely well to come in 47th and 50th. Extremely encouraging to have a number of members of the team coming through which hopefully bodes well for the future. Also good to see was another 4 runners in the pack with Sue Street (65th), Sue Davies (134th), Sarah Farmer (160th) and Rosie Hatton (187th). We await to see what position this puts the team in the league.Cath and Lynne at Senneleys

The men had a great start to the cross campaign taking the first match with 64 points from Birmingham Uni's 84. Ade Holliday led the team home with a tremendous 4th place overall (2nd in the lge) with Phil Hinch having a great start to the winter in 6th. Next up Martin Williams ran through the field for 15th follwed by Ian Williams in 19th and Mike Buntin in 22nd. Dan Beier closed out the count in 38th which was a good run considering he was having serious ankle trouble in the week.

This is exactly the way that we wanted to start and now we need to focus on getting the team out for the next one at Perry Park on 5th December.
