The Track & Field Season kicked off with the National Junior League (Central Division) fixture on the 1st May, at Telford, where Tipton placed 4th. No detailed results are yet available from the NJT&FL website but AW reports that Chad Rhodes threw 49.18m in the Hammer.

At the BUCS Championships in Bedford Ryan McLeod, back from his US excitement, ran the 1500m where he placed 2nd with 3m 47.57s. On the roads Mick Hill was 5th in the Rothwell 10Km with a time of 31m 54s. In Coventry Adrian Holliday was 4th in the May Day 5 with 25m 00s. In the Great West Half Marathon down in Exeter Stuart Hall (MV45) was 4th with 72m 49s and 1st Vet overall. In Uttoxeter Ben Gamble ran a solo 71m 46s Half Marathon ending up over six and a half minutes clear of the second place runner. In the Goyt Valley 10Km Richard Kay was 1st with 36m 34s over a multi terrain course. Earlier, over rough terrain, Adrian Holiday won the Isel Cross 8.8Km at Cockermouth.
