Womens XC League (03/12/2011)

****Updated 06/12/2011 Team were 8th on the day with 100 points, results link below***

Six Tipton ladies made the long journey to Northampton today for the second race in the series of four. Another high quality race with about 250 runners.  Of course, this may be a Midland series but the inclusion of the local universities means they get good runners from all over.

We had a stiff breeze, heavy going underfoot, and a long, undulating course (7km at least). It was a pretty tiring run but Tipton did well, although probably not such a good result as last time when they got 5th overall.

Sue Street came in 25th as first Tipton counter, then Sophie Lynch at 34th, running much better than last time. Third counter was Sue Davies in 41st place and improving all the time.  Kate Williams showed great endurance to get 50th, then Cath Veysey a promising 62nd after a long lay-off and Charlotte Davies in 97th – her first cross-country as a senior.

Next race 14 January Baggeridge Park – nice and close!
