Holden & The Hall Of Hame (20/10/2013)

Jack Holden, the famous Tipton Harrier and distance running legend from the 1930's through to the 1950's was last night inducted into the England Athletics Hall of Fame. Jack won both the European and Empire Games Championships at the Marathon in 1950. During his career he won the International Cross Country Championships on many occasions as well as the Midland & National titles. His daughter Joan Merris was on hand from her home in Cumbria to receive the award on behalf of her late father at the England Athletics presentation held in the Midlands last night.
