WM YA XC League (14/01/2019)

Sam Hale was not able to be at the meeting on Sunday and so Vicky Charlton kindly stepped into the breach and provided a good report from the days racing. Thank you Vicky.

"Sunday saw the Tipton Juniors racing at Abingdon Park, Northampton. It was the usual course with a tight bend after the start meaning a good start was essential.

First race was the under 17 women. Two of our young ladies competed; Grace Slater finished 15th, her best result this season and Katie Bevan  looking strong in 31st.
Team 9th

Next our only under 11 boy lined up in a field of 112. Elliott Boden finished 66th after a tricky start with lots if pushing. Well done.                                                       
Team 16th

We had 3 under 17 men in the next race. Lynden Hunt finished in 26th. Andrew Prole 31st, Will Jones 32nd. All 3 putting in their highest finishes this season. Great result lads.
Team 6th

2 under 11 girls lined up in their race in a field of 121 runners. Shaya Lewis finished 37th and Mia Fantom 62nd. Great strong runs girls.
Team 13th

The under 15 boys all ran well. Thomas Bentley leading them home in 18th place. Ben Ferguson and Cameron Lomax battled it out all the way, Ben finishing in 30th and Cameron 38th
Team 7th

Our biggest team of the day was the under 13 girls. Evie Tromans with another strong performance in 11th. A great battle between Sarah Dudley. 41st and Grace Marnell 46th. Another close race was Sophie Brookes 58th and Woodward 59th. Another solid performance by Macy O’Donoghue in 104th.
Team 8th

Klay Fellows lead home the 2 under 13 boys in the penultimate race in 28th, Tom Lucas in 42nd. Well done lads.
Team 13th

The final race of the day saw 4 under 15 girls on the start line. Rosa Shadforth-Groucutt finished in her best position this season in 13th. Jade Charlton in 25th, Jessie Walker in 38th and Isabel Eagle in 51st. All girls looking strong after a tough start.
Team 8th

Finally, a huge thank you to all who did the 140-mile round trip to Northampton.
