Tipton Library Help Celebrate The Harriers 100th Birthday (11/09/2010)

Saturday 11th September 2010 saw a large number of people descend on the Library in Tipton to celebrate the sport of athletics within the area. Keith Atkins, with Robert Hazel of Tipton Library, had worked hard to put on a presentation and display of material that told the story of the Harriers.

Marge Cherrington came along with some of the current youngsters who met up with some the club stars of yesterday and today. Jack Corfield, Ron Bentley,
Tony Milovsorov, Peter Griffiths and Martin & Kate Williams were on hand to answer questions and explain the success and history of the Club to an enquiring audience. They were supported amongst others by Joe Gripton (President) and Black Country Bugle writer and Tipton Harrier sprinter Roy Langford.

The photographs were taken by Lucie Kerley (MACE) & local historian Keith Hodgkins (Tipton In Old Photographs, three volumes).
