Ray's Ramblings - Introduction (20/12/2014)

We begin a new series of adhoc articles on club life with Tipton Harriers by Ray Williams.

Ray is a Life Member of the Club and has been a member since 1961. Over the ensuing years Ray has both actively run for the club and held the role of Club Secretary and other administrative roles for many years up to the early 2000's. He is also a qualified Timekeeper and keen supporter of the Birmingham & District Cross Country League.

He lives in Netherton with his wife Sylvia, also a one time member of the club. Ray keeps in regular touch with various former members of the club including John Satchwell and Stan Jones and will, we are sure, shed light on some of the escapades his generation got up to.

Over the coming months Ray will provide his views and recollections on the Harriers, the local area, the characters he came across, the trips and the events he ran in. We very much look forward to his stories.
