How to Join

Anyone (12 years and above) wishing to get involved either as an athlete or a volunteer coach or official is welcome to come down on a training night either a Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6pm. 8 -11 year olds go through a (free) 8 week induction programme which starts on Sat 31st January 2010 and runs every Saturday from then, whereby newcomers will be taken through all the athletic disciplines, and then after the 8 weeks can join in on training with the various groups on the Tuesday and Thursday night sessions. Training sessions begin at approx' 6.15pm. In the reception of Tipton Sports Academy club officers are there to meet and greet new people and introduce them to the relevant group or training squad. Alternatively please feel free to email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with any questions or queries and we will endeavour to point you in the right direction.

We have groups to cater for all abilities and for all athletics disciplines from the age of 8 upwards. The club operates a temporary membership scheme for young athletes whereby they can pay a small fee (usually around £1) for up to 6 weeks before paying the full membership fee.

Anyone interested in joining or wishing to get involved in anyway, just need to attend on the club nights as stated above. The membership desk is to the right as you enter past the main reception desk in the entrance of the club. There are people on hand to answer queries and get you into the right group.

Harriers offer coaching in all athletic events, and ask only that a willingness to compete for the club in local events follows. Tipton are involved in athletic leagues which span all year round for the differing disciplines and ability levels. Events usually take place every few weeks on a Saturday or Sunday. Harriers would welcome any help, particulary from parents, to take an interest and offer what support they can and make it known to the club that they are willing to help in what ever way they can. Harriers welcome volunteers in all aspects and can also offer volunteers willing to get involved with coaching and Offiicials, UK athletic qualifications in Coaching and Officiating at events. Athletics is a very rewarding sport and those that go furthest are usually those whose parents/guardians take a vested interest.)
