McLeod grabs bronze at AAAs/European Trials
Sunday, 27 June 2010 06:09
Ryan McLeod ran bravely and was rewarded with 3rd place for his efforts in the 5000m (14:12). Windy and hot conditions scuppered fast times. McLeod hung onto Chris Thompson the eventual winner (13:48) when after going through 1k in 2.49 put in a surge to break the field going through the next 1k in 2.40. McLeod hung on and broke clear with only the strong finishing Andy Vernon getting past him in the last 1km.
Unfortunately Phil Nicholls withdrew after 2km.
