It is that time of the year when England Athletics are asking for nominations for the "Hall Of Fame" awards for 2013. So time to ask yourself is there anyone within our club who is deserving for such recognition? A coach, event stager, course promoter, volunteer, helper or administrator who has made significant contribution to Tipton Harriers over the years? Senior Midland Track & Field League (20/05/2013)

The first fixture of the Senior Midland Track & Field League season took place on Saturday at Tipton, hosted by Halesowen. Unofficially the Men won their part and the women were second giving us second spot overall. POT Results

Nev Watson was a clear winner at the Cobra 10Km staged by Cobra AC. Stephen Pearson was our only other representative and placed 9th. Results
BMAF Road Relays (19/05/2013)

The 2013 BMAF Road Relays took place in the home of road relay running at Sutton Park, Birmingham. Our M35 team began with a couple of big hitters with Martin Williams leading Stage 1 home with 14m 52s. Mike Hager was next out ending in 2nd spot with 16m 27s. On Stage 3 Paul Rogers kept us in the medal hunt with 3rd in 16m 44s. Towards the half way stage of the race Phil Clamp gained one spot to bring us back up to 2nd with 16m 28s. This was maintained by Aaron Keene (17m 11s) on the fifth leg. Stage 6 saw Mike Buntin again keep us in 2nd spot with 16m 13s. Stages 7 & 8 saw us slip outside the medals with Simon Massey (16m 24s) and Dean Hill (16m 55m) ending our challenge in 5th place overall.
In the M45 category we only had four runners and so did not "complete" a team. Mark Wright (18m 26s), Andy Williams (19m 32s), Bryan Mills (20m 51s) and Rich Brittain (18m 03) were our representatives.
In the M55 category we were 14th - Ray Stanier (down in the official results as Rat!) ran first leg with 18m 50s, Alan Grice (20m 01s), Keith Best (23m 30s) and Team Manager Jeff Taylor (21m 52s) were the team. Results
BMC Meeting @ Solihull (19/05/2013)

In the BMC Meeting at Solihull Tom Holden continued his assault at the track with a SB of 1m 55.01s in an 800m. Phil Nicholls stretched his legs over 5000m stopping the clock at 14m 19.29s. Sarah Benson (Hood) was also in action over the same distance with a PB for 5000m of 16m 21.67s. Results

Seb Shepley contested and completed his first triathlon today in Bradford On Avon where he completed a "sprint" event. The race, held in good weather conditions, with an open river swim in the Avon followed by a hilly bike course and a final 5Km run along the canal gave him a chance to explore the workings of a new sport and experience a different race enviroment. He plans to do an "olympic" distance event in late June in Bristol. He placed 13th overall and 6th Veteran. Results

There was a "double" for Tipton Harriers at the Wolverhampton Park Run with Steve Abrahams & Katie Dolan both winning. Other youngsters represented were Chloe Walker & Rosa Mae Lewis backed up by Seniors in the form of Karl Lewis & Matthew West. Wolverhampton
At Walsall Chris Davies was 5th Eve Mulvaney 3rd Woman & Sophie Hill 11th Woman. Walsall

A merry band of Tiptonians travelled up to rainy Manchester on Tuesday evening and came away with a trio of 3K PB's. Youngster Luke Vine ran 9.01, Chris Fullerton 9.11 and Tom Holden in 8.33. Tom reports that despite the weather it was a worthwhile trip.

A number of the club were in action at the Uni including Jack Imray, Kevin Dzenga, Greg Whitehouse, Mitch Turner, Ellis Sabin, Hayden Ike & Aaron Nettlefold all contest various 100m races. The 200m distance saw Jonathan Timmins, Kevin Dzenga, Samual Farmer, Jack Imray, Greg Whitehouse, Mitchell Turner, Eliis Sabin & Hayden Ike again contest the various races held. A number of PB's were set notably Ike over 100m and Whitehouse, Turner & Sabin over 200m. Results
