We understand that at there are times when a change in club is needed. This can be for a number of reasons including :-
- Moving into a new area due to a job change
- Seeking a higher level of competition
- Training with a new group of friends
To move from one club to another you will need to do a few things.
Firstly tell the club that you are moving from that you are leaving and make sure that you are paid up to date with membership etc and have returned any trophies/equipment that you may have. This should be done in writing and sent, or handed to that club's Membership Secretary.
It is a good idea to keep a copy of any such letter in case you need to refer to it at any time when transfering between one club and another.
You should, of course apply to and join the new club.
Again make sure they know that you are moving clubs and what steps you have done to resign that membership in an amicable way and proper manner.
If you are planning to compete in team contests for us then you will need to refer to and possibly apply to England Athletics for approval and possible dispensation. The paperwork you may need to refer to is normally available on the right hand side of this England Athletics page.
When the change has occured you may need to update your England Athletics & Power Of Ten profiles to show your new club.
Make sure you have bought any kit (vests/shorts/T shirts etc) you will need for your new club and away you go. Welcome aboard!
