West Mids XC League - Redditch

From Bob Lynch:

Race 3 12 December 2010 Arrow Valley Park Redditch:

The mid-point of the season and a bright sunny day greeted us, with the ground quite soft after the recent thaw.  Tipton had a disappointing day really, with full teams in only four of the eight races.  Luckily, other teams also seemed to be down on numbers so we did not suffer too much.

Not only were we down on numbers, but the runners who did manage to get there appeared beset with colds and injuries.  Most of Tipton’s top runners seemed to be suffering.  All in all, a day perhaps to put behind us but well done to all those who did make it there. It’s on days like these that true club loyalty is shown.

Highlights were:
• Full teams in Under 11 Girls and Boys, Under 13 Girls (a bumper 7 runners) and U17 lads.
• Chris Davies’ continuing good form with 10th place again in the U13 boys (now 7th in the individual standings).
• Jacob Anson’s 21st place in the U15 boys – 10 places better than his last race.
• Tom Hammond in the U17 lads, putting in a PB place-wise.
• U17 lads’ team up 2 places in the standings
• George Duckworth now up to 8th in the individual standings.
• Ailish Craig now 7th in the individual standings.
