WMYA XC League, Warwick (11/12/2011)

Update (16/12/2011) - Results now available via this link - Results

Tipton had a reasonably good day at Hatton Country Park last weekend. Despite the long distance and all the coughs and colds around, we had full teams in six of the eight age groups. Hatton is a new venue for this league and pretty good it was too, with easy parking and a sensible course, well laid out. There was an added bonus of the rain starting after the races had ended! Quite breezy with the ground good to soft.

Top twenty Tipton performances were:

U15 Girls Isher Mander   8th
U15 Boys Jason Anson   11th
U13 Girls Rosa Lewis   13th
U11 Boys Ben Prince   13th
U11 Girls Sophie Cartwright   15th
U17 Women Charlotte Finney   19th

Well done them! Also worth noting Rai Nicholls, Amelia Silk, Sophie Harling, Dan Quinn, Chris Davies and Luke Vine who were top 25.

Team wise, the U11 Girls and U15 Girls are now both 4th, the U13 Girls are and U17 women are both 6th, the U11 Boys are a very promising 3rd and we think the U15 Boys are still 2nd.

Special mention to the U11 and U13 Girls teams.  Too many runners to mention really but it was great to see the veritable sea of green and white vests in both these races. The U15 Tipton girls did well too with about 10 runners.

Next race Sunday 22 January 2012 at Pingles Stadium, Nuneaton.  Please make every effort to turn out for this one – look at the U15 lads, only one top-twenty placing but still 2nd team. That’s because they support each other and turn out when it counts.

Full results will be on the WMYACCL website in due course.
