Staffordshire A.A. Track & Field Championships (25/05/2014)

This years county championships took place at Northwood Stadium, Stoke On Trent. Results

A proud Simon Cooper provided this personal summary:-

"Courteney Cooper showed great skill and ability at this weekends county meeting, In her heat she finished a resounding 4th place running a PB of 14.4sec taking nearly half second off her old time, of which we thought she would qualify as fastest looser. After the second heat it emerged that Courteney and Faye Evans of Cannock and Stafford had ran the exact same time, so the officials requested that these two girls would race against each other for the last place in the final, in a run off.

In fine form Courteney ran a consistent time again of 14.4 seconds to equal her PB and take the last spot in the final, when the final came this meant that Courteneny who has just moved into the U15 age group would have ran 3 times in an hour, compared to all the other girls running only twice.

In the final Courteney finished in 7th position just 0.2s off her PB which she produced twice in two earlier races to qualify. A brilliant performance.

Courteney then went on to run the 200m where she finished 7th in the heat a little tired by now but still producing a respectable seasons best.

Also in good form Jack Imray ran 50 seconds dead in the Senior 400m to take the gold medal.

And Peter Shand ran a comfortable 22.5 seconds to win his 200m final

Well done all."
