Weekend Update (16/11/2015)

Sam Hale reports on a busy weekend for the club's youngsters. (Pictures by Sam Hale except where noted.)

"It's been a great weekend of racing for the Tipton Juniors with many of them committed to two races. Saturday saw a number of athletes donning their West Midlands School's vests, fine performances from them all in the Inter-Counties fixture in Stoke in atrocious conditions. West Mids finished 3rd, the Inter girls were 1st in the team race with Rae Nicholls storming home in joint 7th place.

Spikes were back on again for the second round of the West Midlands Young Athletes Cross Country League at Aldersley on Sunday. A big thank you to everyone who turned out you were all Swift and Eager. The club tent looked great surrounded by the 3 flags. There was a great atmosphere and great support from families and friends shouting the athletes on all around the course.

We kicked off with the under 17 women. We had a full team, Rosa lewis was first back in 17th place despite her tired legs, Millie Caddick 27th in her first race of the season and Marianne Hughes was 38th. Team 8th.

Next race is our home meeting on Sunday 6th December at Warley Woods. Lets build on todays success and lets have everyone who trains competing. Do we have any under 17 men who'd like to give Cross Country a try? Do you have a friend at school or college that fancies a new challenge?

Volunteers needed to help on the day, let Sam Hale know if you can help or just come along and support our fantastic juniors."

Sam adds "Does anyone have pics of the under 13 and 15's boys teams they could send in? (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)"
