Here are some ideas for presents this Christmas season. The first has Tipton connections. Chris O'Carroll is a member of Gloucester AC and an ultra distance runner of some note. Here he recalls the development of their squad that competed with distinction and shared many experiences with our own Tipton Harriers ultra team.
The next looks at some long distance challenges that have been done in this strangest of years.
Still "off road" we have the fourth book by Steve Chilton. Here he has profiled a notorious fell runner in the form of Billy Bland.
On a slightly different tack we we have former Olympic Medallist Charlie Spedding with his take on diet and lifestyle and the underlying self interests that dictate policies.
A volume produced during lockdown with a title that could not be ignored is an overview of the develoment of athletics in West Yorkshire.
On the theme of opinions and investigative journalism David Walsh has written up his view of the exposure of doping in Russia
Finally we have two books on the path another athletic club took to performance success. The club concerned is Tonbridge AC and these two volumes chronicle the highs, lows and adventures the club, their coaches and athletes underwent.
As an alternative you may like to consider "gifting" joining one of the groups associated with our sport.
